SOLD OUT!! This is our fifth tour for this fantastic show.
Our first stop on this tour is for a wonderful noon
meal at the beautiful Old Mill Restaurant in Toronto’s west end. Then
we travel to the Princess of Wales Theatre for the new production of
The Sound of Music. With music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar
Hammerstein II and book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse (suggested
by The Trapp Family Singers, by Maria Augusta Trapp), The Sound of
Music is one of the most loved musicals of all time. The film
adaptation of the original 1959 Broadway production won five Academy
Awards, including Best Picture in 1965. The score for this outstanding
musical touches the hearts of all ages and brims over with some of the
most memorable songs ever performed on the musical stage, including My
Favorite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Edelweiss, Climb Ev'ry Mountain, Sixteen

Join us today for an exciting trip back in time. We travel to Toronto
and begin the tour at the historic Old Mill Restaurant for a delicious noon buffet.
Then we travel by coach to the Sunnyside Loop to board a vintage streetcar. Our host and guide for the 2 hour
ride is Mike Filey who has dedicated decades to research and fact finding in
recording the fascinating history of the city of Toronto, for which he
has a great passion. Mike, was born and raised in Toronto, has written
nearly two dozen books about Toronto's past and, for more than 25
years, has written The Way We Were, a very popular column in
the Sunday Sun newspaper. This tour will give you a fantastic meal, an
opportunity to learn some history, a chance to meet Mike Filey, an
interesting view of the streets of Toronto, and a ride on the
Red Rocket. The term Red Rocket was only taken up by the TTC as a marketing slogan
in the early to mid 1980s but the name has stuck as a nickname for the

- CRUISE & CANOES Lift Lock Cruise & Canoe Museum in Peterborough

Today a leisurely drive takes us to the community of Peterborough where we embark on an
interesting and informative cruise along a portion of the Trent Severn Waterway.
Passenger boats have been touring on the waterway since the early 1900's, with the
completion of the historic liftlock system. It is known to many as a recreation paradise,
yet this waterway has played a significant role in history during the period of Native occupation and
throughout the development of Ontario's lumber, agriculture and recreational industries.

Come with us to the Mennonite Community of St Jacobs for shopping,
sightseeing, lunch and just enjoying a day in the country. Thursday is
Market Day in St Jacobs. We plan to arrive as the market opens and the Coach
will provide a shuttle service between the town and the market. The
Outlet Mall is located within walking distance of the actual Market
Barn. Lunch will be on your own either at the Market or in Town. You
can learn more about the Mennonites by visiting the interactive
display at the Visitor Centre located on King Street North. After
exploring St. Jacobs we will board the vintage train to take us to
Waterloo Station. The coach will be waiting to take us back home to
Barrie.

OCTOBER TOURS
- CREDIT VALLEY TRAIN a Heritage Train ride

We begin our journey in Barrie and travel by coach to
Orangeville. The train departs from historic downtown Orangeville.
You will travel through scenic countryside on
one of the most varied short line rail routes in eastern Canada,
passing through rural farmlands and the rolling hills of Caledon, to
the forks of the Credit River and Cataract Gorge. Known for its
rolling hills, deep valleys, and being the headwaters of four major
river systems, the Hills of Headwaters region provides a spectacular

Our tour today takes us west to the town of Stratford. We’ll have
lunch on your own at the mall. After lunch we’ll travel to Stratford’s
Festival Theatre. West Side Story is a musical based on William
Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet and was a smash Broadway hit in the late
1950’s. Set in Manhattan’s West Side Hell’s Kitchen in the mid-1950s,
the musical explores the rivalry between two teenage gangs of
different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Bernstein's score for the
musical has become extremely popular and it includes Something's
Coming, Maria, America, Somewhere, Tonight, Jet Song, I Feel Pretty,
One Hand One Heart, and Cool. After the show we’ll travel to the
